Kathleen Freeman

I’ve been living in Montgomeryshire for over fifty years, enjoying its plants and animals, wild and domestic, and these are usually the starting point for my prints.  In particular the River Severn and the nature reserves of Montgomeryshire Wildlife Trust.

My prints begin with camera, sketchbook, memory and a lot of working drawings, before becoming reduction linocuts, drypoints or collagraphs. Sometimes ideas developed as drypoints and later become linoprints or vice versa.  They are specific plants and animals from specific places, printed on a tabletop etching press in the spare bedroom.
