Miranda Whitten-Walker

Miranda is a printmaking artist inspired by the rural landscapes of Britain, especially hill ranges of the English and Welsh borderlands. Working from both observation and imagination, and often from unusual perspectives, she is known for her detailed multi-layered reduction linocutswith abstract elements. She loves to sketch while roaming on her bicycle or motorbike, and her eye is drawn to interesting marks and patterns that humans and natural forces leave on the land.

Miranda also produces drypoints and is experimenting with combining other printmaking techniques. Largely self-taught, she began printmaking in 2024 following a radical career change from biological research. Echoes of that background also appear in her nature-themed prints and biological illustrations.

Miranda is currently Artist in Residence at Hergest Croft Gardens (Kington, Herefordshire). She exhibits at several events across the UK, details of which can be found on her website.
