Studio Supervisors
Want to spend more time at the AP studio but would like company or advice?
We are pleased to announce that, now we have five supervisors who can help you out! Plus NEW Saturday Supervision.
Week day supervision sessions are as follows:
Tuesday 10am -1pm Stuart
Thursday 10am -1pm Tomi (from 5th November)
Friday 10am - 2pm Kiran (First Friday of the month) and Elin (Last Friday of the month)
Saturday Supervision 10am - 4pm, 10th and 31st October with Jenny Fell, thereafter every Saturday from 14th November will be supervised alternately by Jenny Fell and Tomi Otani.

STUART EVANS is a founder member of Aberystwyth Printmakers and serves as one of the directors.
Stuart obtained a MA in printmaking at Aberystwyth School of Art, focusing mainly on Lino printing and etching. He has recently been developing his drypoint work and occasionally runs courses on printmaking.
He has exhibited both in Britain and abroad and has many works held in private and public collections.
Stuart says... my main training and knowledge is in lino printing and drypoint print. I am in the workshop most Tuesdays 10 am - 1pm. TOMI OTANI is a Japanese printmaker based in Corris, with degrees in journalism, film, and broadcasting from the University of Wales, Cardiff, and fine art from Musashino Art University in Tokyo. She explores various mediums, including monotype, lithography, linocut and collage, focusing on the theme of "art as a healing tool." Currently, Tomi is working on an illustrated book about cancer and offers local printmaking workshops. Tomi will be available at the AP studio on Thursdays 10 am - 1pm.
Tomi says… I can supervise at AP for monotype printmaking I will also be able to offer supervision for gel plate printmaking as well as for more traditional methods using oil-based ink on plastic plates. If anyone is interested, collage techniques can be incorporated.

KIRAN SHARMA is an artist and printmaker based in Meirionnydd.
She studied Painting from Nature (Fine Art) at Byam Shaw School of Art, London and post-graduate Printmaking at Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridge.
She is one of the resident artists at Galeri Harlech.
Kiran has been a member of AP since 2013. Her main experience is in drypoint, monoprint and collograph. She usually can be at AP on the first Friday of the month 10-2pm and is contactable through Press Gang.
ELIN CROWLEY completed her MA in Printmaking at The School of Art Aberystwyth University in 2024. She is a printmaker based in Machynlleth and enjoys linocut, collagraph and etching. She has been delivering workshops for over 15 years for children and adults and encourages a relaxed and creative approach to making. Since 2019 she and artist Nicky Ascott have run a community interest company called Ennyn CIC which provides bilingual creative opportunities in schools and communities. Her practice is inspired by rural living in her Welsh speaking community in Mid Wales and encompasses identity, family and nature. The agricultural shed has become prominent in her work as a symbol of belonging and feeling safe in a place and in a community. In 2025 she had a solo show at MOMA Machynlleth, shortlisted for the Eirian Llwyd Award at Oriel Plas Glyn y Weddw and exhibited at Ruthin Craft Centre in the New Printmaking exhibition. JENNY FELL The natural world and landscapes of Mid Wales where Jenny lives continue to be an important influence on her work as both printmaker and watercolour artist. The main medium in which she works, lino-cut, was an inexpensive means to continue her keen love of printmaking after completing her first degree. Recently she has rekindled her love of etching since the introduction of aluminium etching at Brogerddan. She has exhibited her work throughout the UK, taking part in more than fifty exhibitions and participating in collaborations with Aberystwyth Printmakers of which she is a founder member. She has been awarded several grants from the Arts Council of Wales to further her career. Jenny is an experienced tutor in printmaking spanning many decades. She teaches relief printing, monoprinting and screen printing in a variety of arts in health settings: hospitals, day centres, residential homes, community centres, visitor centres as well as schools and at Brogerddan of course! She was awarded an MA in Art Psychotherapy in 2007 and has been practicing since then.
Jenny will be running Saturday Supervised Studio Sessions with Tomi from 10th October.
