Gan adeiladu ar brosiectau blaenorol fel Rivers of Gold, Of Farmers, Foresters and Fish, Miscanthus ac Ar Lan y Môr/On the Seashore, mae Aberystwyth Printmakers (AP) yn falch o lansio prosiect rhyngddisgyblaethol newydd:

Bu diwedd y ddeunawfed ganrif a dechrau’r ganrif ganlynol yn gyfnod o newid mawr yng Nghymru, yn enwedig yng Ngheredigion. Newidiodd gweithgareddau fel mwyngloddio, draenio tir, a pheirianneg afonydd ac arfordirol y tirweddau a’r cymunedau fel ei gilydd. Yn ogystal, dechreuodd y gweithgareddau hyn ddatgelu bydoedd cudd o dan ein traed — tirweddau a gladdwyd o dan greigiau, dwr, gwaddod a mawn. Cofnododd llenyddiaeth deithio a gweithiau celf, ynghyd â llythyrau ac adroddiadau swyddogol o’r cyfnod, rhai o’r effeithiau amgylcheddol a chymdeithasol y newid diwydiannol hwn. Bu’r gweithiau hyn yn sylfeini astudiaethau modern, megis daeareg, archaeoleg ac ecoleg. Gellir ystyried Ceredigion yn enghraifft gynnar bwysig o’r trawsnewidiadau sy’n parhau i drawsffurfio ein byd heddiw.

Building on previous collaborations such as Rivers of Gold, Of Farmers, Foresters and Fish, Miscanthus and Ar Lan y Môr/On the Seashore, Aberystwyth Printmakers (AP) are pleased to launch a new interdisciplinary project:

The late 18th and early 19th centuries were a time of major change in Wales, particularly in Ceredigion. Mining, land drainage, river and coastal engineering transformed both landscapes and communities. These activities also began to reveal hidden environments beneath our feet — landscapes buried under rock, water, sediment, and peat. Travel writing and art, letters and official reports from the period recorded the environmental and social impacts of rapid industrial change. These works helped lay the foundations for modern studies of geology, archaeology, and ecology. Ceredigion can be seen as an important early example of the transformations that continue to shape our world today.
